Museums offer a wide variety of work to art historians; from the administration of collections to research projects. In the lecture series “Kunst im Museum” (art in the museum), art historians present their respective fields of work and their museums. This gives interested parties a glimpse behind the scenes - and provides students with a wider view of their later career options.

The first lecture followed by a discussion will take place on 18.05.2017 from 8:15 to 9:45pm in the Kollegiengebäude I, lecture hall 1010. Professor Christiane Lange will present her work as director of the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. Further lectures take place on the 01.06., 22.06., 06.07. and 13.07. All lectures are at the same time and in the same lecture hall. The series is organized by the Kunstwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (KWG) in collaboration with the Kunstgeschichtliches Institut and the Studium generale. The events are open to all; they are conducted in German. There is no need to register; admission is free.
