Erasmus Prize for the Liberal Arts and Sciences

University College Freiburg will honor extraordinary research work on June 23, 2017

For the fifth time University College Freiburg (UCF) will award the Erasmus Prize for the Liberal Arts and Sciences. This year Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Gehrke, Director of Outreach des UCF will hold the laudatory speech. In addition, Prof. Dr. Friederike Fless, president of the German Archaeological Institute will hold a ceremonial speech entitled „Our endangered world heritage – Palmyra and its consequences“. The Erasmus prize goes to those works whose topics are dealt with in an exemplary fashion from a historical and epistemological viewpoint and offer an interdisciplinary methodical and theoretical exchange. The award includes prize money of 5,000 Euros and is donated by the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau.
