University Equal Opportunity Officer has been in office since April 2011, providing enormous services to the University of Freiburg

As of April 1, 2018, Dr. Ina Sieckmann-Bock will be leaving office early as University Equal Opportunity Officer at the University of Freiburg for professional reasons. The chemist was voted into office as University Equal Opportunity Officer for the first time in 2011 and elected for a second four-year- term in 2015. Until new elections can be arranged, she will be replaced by her three deputies Prof. Dr. Annegret Wilde, Prof. Dr. Johanna Pink and Prof. Dr. Anca-Ligia Grosu.

“We would like to thank Mrs Sieckmann-Bock for her dedication and hard work over the past seven years, during which time she has made a great contribution to equality at our university,” says Prof. Dr. Gisela Riescher, Vice-President for Research Integrity, Gender and Diversity. Milestones in Sieckmann-Bock's tenure include the publication of the Guidelines for Using Gender-Sensitive Language and the Sexual Harassment and Stalking Guidelines.

The Equal Opportunity Officer at the University of Freiburg is member of the senate and advisory member of all senate commissions, university council and appointment committees. She is the point person for all researchers as well as students at the University of Freiburg. Her tasks include, among others, promoting the compatibility of work and family life and advising on gender-related difficulties in the workplace.
