Kerstin Krieglstein named the new rector at the University of Konstanz

University of Konstanz has elected its new rector: Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein, who has been full-time dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Freiburg since April 2014. “Kerstin Krieglstein has made important advances within her faculty as well as the entire university in recent years,” says rector Prof. Dr. Hans-Jochen Schiewer. “I thank her for your great commitment to Freiburg, warmly congratulate her on the successful election and look forward to further cooperation with her as a counterpart in Konstanz.”

Kerstin Krieglstein got a degree in chemistry and pharmacy, secured her PhD in pharmacology in 1990 at the University of Marburg and habilitated in 1997 in anatomy and cell biology at the University of Heidelberg. After her professorships at the University of Göttingen and Saarland University, she followed her falling in 2007 as chair for anatomy at the University of Freiburg. In 2013 the Faculty of Medicine elected Krieglstein as full-time dean for six years.
