„From me to you. Collecting – Documenting – Loaning“ – A conference that addresses topics such as loaning, transport, insurance and rights management for the collection of cultural assets. Due to the rising specialization and regional focus on collections, museums and cultural institutions are strengthening their network in order to support one another through loan objects from their various collections. The national and international loan network of such objects, however, is a laborious process. Along with questions regarding notation and documentation of loans, legal issues are also of concern.  David Vuillaume, president of the Swiss Museum Association, will offer suggestions provided by his association about loans between museums. Other presentations will address the role of new legal protections for cultural assets during international loans and INTERPOL’s contribution in fighting illegal trade of cultural assets. The central theme of the conference will be the aspects of collection management and the use of SPECTRUM, a standard for museum documentation.
