Constitutional amendment

The law passed to further develop university legislation and the associated constitutional amendment of the State University Law (LHG) of Baden Wuerttemberg has prompted an overhaul of the University of Freiburg constitution. The changes in the State University Law are based in particular on the provisions of the Constitutional Court for the State of Baden Wuerttemberg regarding the governance structures and decision-making modalities in the university committees: centralized in the Senate and decentralized in the faculty councils. In its constitution the University of Freiburg will adapt the composition of the committees such as the number of seats for election members per status group, the number of members entitled to vote along with general procedural rules and the introduction of the new status group of doctoral candidates.
