Whether it is about film productions, media technology offerings, courses to promote media literacy or journalism training, the Media Centre at the University Library of Freiburg (UB) is celebrating its 20th anniversary on October 1, 2020. It offers all members of the University of Freiburg a comprehensive service. For instance, they can work on their own projects with the help of modern media technology and editing suites for audio and video, engage the Media Centre team for video recordings and film productions or take part in courses on topics such as “Producing tutorial videos,” “Digital image editing” or "Digital audio recording and sound editing.”

The editorial office for journalism training uniCROSS was founded in 2011 with a later move into the new UB building in 2015. It unites the divisions uniTV, Radio uniFM 88,4 and uniONLINE in a cross-media online presence while relying on the use of social media platforms. The editorial office is open to all University of Freiburg students. In courses at the Center for Key Qualifications as well as through editorial work at uniCROSS, they learn from experienced journalists about how to prepare topics across the various channels in a way that is appropriate for the target group. For their radio and film productions they have access to well-equipped studios. A monthly newsletter informs interested readers about newly published articles.
