Francisco Javier Quintana, Günter Spinner and Michael Wehner named new honorary professors at the University of Freiburg

As proposed by the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Freiburg is naming Prof. Francisco Javier Quintana an honorary professor. In 2003, Quintana received his doctorate at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Since 2013, he has been teaching and researching in the area of neurology at Harvard Medical School and Brighham and Women’s Hospital in Boston in the US. He has also been teaching neuropathology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Freiburg since 2016.

The University of Freiburg is naming Dr. Günter Spinner an honorary professor as proposed by the Faculty of Law. Dr. Spinner received his doctorate in law at the University of Freiburg in 2008. Since 2011, he has been a German Federal Labor Court judge. He has also been an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Freiburg for a decade. Dr. Spinner teaches in the area of civil law with a concentration on law on employees’ representation and co-determination in business and industry, and the operating processes of labor courts.

As proposed by the Faculty of Humanities, the University of Freiburg is naming Dr. Michael Wehner an honorary professor. An educator and political scientist, he received his doctorate from the Freiburg University of Education in 1995. He has also been head of the Baden-Württemberg’s State Center for Political Education since 1991. Dr. Wehner has been holding seminars focusing on political education and state and municipal politics at the Department of Political Science since 1992.
