The University of Freiburg is extending the period of closure of all campus buildings over the holidays from December 24, 2020, to (and including) January 10, 2021. The University Library, all campus libraries, and all study areas are already closed as of today, December 16, 2020, and will remain closed until (and including) January 10, 2021.

These measures are necessary due to the decisions made by the federal and state governments to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which according to current information will remain in effect until January 10, 2021, as well as the current Coronavirus Ordinance (Corona-Verordnung) of the State of Baden-Württemberg, explains Rector Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein. “The community’s health and safety are extremely important to the University of Freiburg,” says Krieglstein. “We want to do our part in the next few weeks to reduce movement and avoid in-person contact in order to curb the rising numbers of infection.”
